Maple Pudding

A classic Québec dessert made with rich maple syrup, creating a warm, fluffy cake that bakes in a maple caramel.


Ingredients

Caramel

  • 1/2 cup maple

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1 cup whipping cream

  • vanilla

  • pinch of salt

Cake

  • 2/3 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • vanilla

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 1/2 cup flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • pinch of salt

  • 2/3 cup milk


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

  • In a pot, boil the maple syrup, honey, whipping cream, vanilla, and salt for 5 minutes. Set aside.

  • Whisk the sugar, oil, vanilla and egg until light.

  • Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Don't overmix.

  • Spread the batter in a 8 inch square pan. Slowly pour the sauce over the cake.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes.

  • Enjoy warm with ice cream.
