Caramelized Pecan Maamoul


Ingredients

Dough

  •   200 g butter

  •   4 pieces kiri cheese

  •   1/4 cups powdered sugar

  •   1/3 cup powdered milk

  •   2 cups flour

  •   1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Filling

  • 250 g pecans

  • 80 g brown sugar

  • vanilla

  • 30 g butter


Method

  • In a food processor, mix the butter, sugar, kiri, and powdered milk.

  • Add flour and baking powder. Chill the dough.

  • In a pot, add the brown sugar and allow it to caramelize. Mix in the pecans.

  • Place the caramelized pecans on a piece of baking paper. Allow to cool.

  • In a food processor, blend the pecans until fine. Add the vanilla and butter.

  • Shape the mixture into small balls.

  • Take an amount of dough and stuff it with the pecan ball and roll into a ball.

  • Place it in the maamoul tool and press.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
