Caramelized Pecan Maamoul
Ingredients
Dough
200 g butter
4 pieces kiri cheese
1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup powdered milk
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Filling
250 g pecans
80 g brown sugar
vanilla
30 g butter
Method
In a food processor, mix the butter, sugar, kiri, and powdered milk.
Add flour and baking powder. Chill the dough.
In a pot, add the brown sugar and allow it to caramelize. Mix in the pecans.
Place the caramelized pecans on a piece of baking paper. Allow to cool.
In a food processor, blend the pecans until fine. Add the vanilla and butter.
Shape the mixture into small balls.
Take an amount of dough and stuff it with the pecan ball and roll into a ball.
Place it in the maamoul tool and press.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
